Poor, Poor Alaina
After Ryan’s announcement that 31 million votes came in last night, we’re left wondering why he didn’t include the number of votes cast Tuesday night considering that two girls from last night and two guys from the night before are going home. But before they do, a montage flashing back to the 70s proves slightly more digestible than last week’s 60’s offering except for the annoying and distracting audio issues. Ryan asks the back row to stand up and here’s how it goes down for the following guys: Michael Johns is safe. So is Chikezie Eze. Ryan tells Jason Castro that it’s bad news for him because he’ll have to prep for more interviews next week as he’s sticking around. Now it’s down to Jason Yeagar and Danny Noriega. Ryan says one is safe and one is going home. Too bad. After Tuesday night they both should be going home but it’s Jason who gets the boot. Now it’s the girls’ turn and Kristy Lee Cook, Asia’h Epperson and Brooke White are all safe. That leaves us with Amanda Overmyer and Alexandrea Lushington – both of who are at big risk but only one gets the swan song. It is … Alexandrea. Back from the break and we’re gonna knock off the second girl. Carly Smithson is thankfully safe. Remiele Malubay is relieved to learn she too is safe as is Syesha Mercado. Will it be Alaina Whitaker or Kady Malloy? Shock! Kady is safe and she’s just as surprised as the rest of us. Based on Kady’s reaction, I’d say she fully expected to be going home tonight. One thing is for certain, Alaina sure didn’t see a departure in her future. She’s undoubtedly shaken by the news and is so upset she isn’t sure she can sing one last time – but she pulls through and we’re all saddened. It’s down to our final cast-off as Luke Menard and Robbie Carrico are invited to center stage while Jason Castro and all three Davids learn they are safe. So, who will it be? We say bye-bye to the wig-wearing Robbie. Did I mention that there are multiple plugs for upcoming American Idol Events including the return of "Idol Gives Back"? Put it in your Outlook folks because on Wednesday, April 9, this event which sadly makes the finale look dull, will feature such guests as Brad Pitt, Snoop Dogg, Daughtry, Miley Cyrus and Reese Witherspoon. It’s been a long day so if time permits, I’ll post again tomorrow to analyze tonight’s show and compare my picks with the actual results. ‘Til then, ta-ta.
